AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Character, Competence and Chemistry

• Bringing up good children in character and learning. Instilling in these children the belief that, ‘they belong to a generation that runs a covenant of children doing better than their parents both in character and in learning’
• Training up children to believe in God and also to believe in themselves. Embedding in them the philosophy that ‘there is nothing God and I cannot do’. Pray as if all depends on God and work as if all depends on self.
• Inculcating in these young ones the tenets and standards that emanate from quality and excellence
• Encouraging the chemistry of partnering with a core value of team spirit.
• Interfacing with the society from an angle of being relevant and not necessarily from the ego of self-importance.
• Being a friend of the earth from the tender age by having a full understanding of environmental protection and cleanliness as in Genesis 2:15

OUR BELIEFS

‘My parents walked so that I can run and I am running so that my children can fly’

The slogan of the YMS which is ‘doing better the parents’ is a derivative of the above phraseology which, coincidentally, is also our mantra. Our successes in life often have a lot to do with what becomes of our children. Success without a successor is a paradox. If we want to go fast in life, we may have to go alone but to go far, we must go with someone. The issues of success and going far in life are interwoven in the life of our young ones. We are told that it takes two to bring a child into this world and it will take the entire community to bring up the child. We must synergise as parents and teachers (with collaboration between the homes and schools) to bring up children that can at least sustain the level we have already attained in life.
